Production Process

In Saba Foulad Zagros, the steel rolling process is carried out in accordance to the global standards and therefore, the products are approved by Iran’s National Standard Institute.

The rolling process is done on the CCM billets with the cross-section of 150 by 150 or 130 by 130 millimeters. These 6 and 12 meter long carbon steel billets are in fact the raw materials and therefore, are systematically charged into the reheating furnace where they reach a temperature of 1150 degree Celsius. After being stabilized in this temperature and at the end of the furnace, the billets are being fed into the rolling stands. The metal forming operation is processed continuously and through 18 vertical and horizontal stand machines in order to obtain the final size of the bar.

Each of these machines performs a specific task one after another, for the bar to reach the needed cross-section size. To be more specific, the 1150 degree Celsius billet will gradually increase in length while the shape of the cross-section will change as the billet passes through each stand. So, besides using the advanced technical knowledge, the project enjoys the lowest possible environmental pollution and the efficient energy consumption along with the high quality of the products.

After the rolling stage, it is time for finishing to produce rebar which is done according to the standards by CNC machine. Researchers suggest that the geometrical shape of the lugs, the dimensional precision and the proper appliance of the lugs have a decisive role in the concrete adhesion and preventing the fractures occurred by fatigue. For instance, the intersection of the ribs and lugs will result in the stress concentration. By proper application of the spindled technique and with the help of the CNC machines, the space between ribs and the lugs were precisely taken into consideration and Saba Foulad Zagros have achieved this important factor by using the most advanced finishing machineries.

After the hot rolling and in a Thermex process which requires high speed cooling, the mechanical properties of the product will increase. After reaching the room temperature of around 30 degree Celsius, the rebars are cut into 12 meter long pieces. In this stage and based on the instructions, the quality control unit takes samples of the products in order to perform the necessary tests. In case of approval, the products are delivered to the bundling section.

In this section, the products are being bundled in 2 to 5 ton bunches and then signaled which makes them ready for transfer to the product storage area and for sale.
